Derek is our consulting statistician with a teaching background and a keen interest in ornithology.  He brings a wealth of experience to the team in terms of statistical analysis of data and modelling design and implementation.  Derek provides input into statistical analysis of water quality, freshwater biota and fauna survey data.  Most notably, as a Kessels & Associates team member, Derek has developed and implemented significant refinements of collision risk models associated with assessing the potential impacts of wind farms on birds and bats.
