Contact Energy - Waitahora Wind Farm (2007 -
2010)
Kessels & Associates conducted an ecological assessment of
the Waitahora Wind Farm, which will be located in the Puketoi
Range, near
Dannevirke, for Contact Energy Ltd. The survey covered
both terrestrial and aquatic systems. Surveys included
vegetation, bats, birds, freshwater fish and macroinvertebrates,
producing a detailed and comprehensive report for the client.
Robust evidence was produced for Council hearings, including a
comprehensive wetland restoration plan, carcass searching methods
and aquatic biota survey protocols.
